Retirement Hobbies

Hey there,  Welcome to our website! We’re  all about retirement hobbies & FUN,  like cooking & entertaining, travel,  acrylic painting, DIY’s, keeping active with sports  and lots of ideas to help your retirement lifestyle be even more fun & fulfilling.

Just think about how many times you said, while you were working, I wish I had time to learn or DO….. whatever.  Now is the time to find a new passion!  Learn a new language, Try Spanish or French or Italian (my personal favorite)learn how to paint or draw, (why not check out my art class blog) on this website),  become a gourmet cook ( try Ron’s Food blog page) take up golf or tennis or…. write a blog!!  We’re still learning about how to write a blog. (lol)

You can volunteer at a school, church, hospital, soup kitchen or in  your  own community.   All will welcome the help.

Ron loves to cook  so he does a lot of that, and we enjoy entertaining our friends for dinner.

We both took up golf and tennis when we retired,  I teach acrylic painting classes, learned to play Mahjong and a bunch of other games.  Ron also keeps busy with his “Honey-do’s and other projects.

Protecting our health by exercising, both our bodies and our brains is part of our daily life.  For us, taking our allotment of  vitamins for the “over-50” crowd . and other health related products keeps us in good health.  We watch our weight and weigh ourselves each morning.   In addition, the main reason behind this blog was to keep us mentally active. We have been following this routine for many years and do attribute most of our good health to it.

Many people find that the “novelty” of having nothing you have to do wears a little thin after a few years.  Those days can seem long and lonesome unless you plan otherwise.

Keeping  busy with fun and fulfilling pastimes will keep you a lot happier as the years go by.  Doing something worthwhile (even teaching your fellow retirees to knit, play a new game, paint or anything else you know how to do, that they don’t) adds to your own contentment as well as theirs.

We are having a ball in our  retirement with new  and old hobbies and fun pastimes.  Join us on the adventure and try something new.  Now that you have the time,   just DO IT!
